"F*uck Yeah" Tea
Tea Time with Jo | F*uck Yeah Tea
Ingredients:
-A small handful of fresh mint leaves
-7 bags of black tea
-Juice of 1 lime
-Splash of orange blossom water
-5 TBSP of organic cane sugar
-32oz of filtered water
-Pinch of sea salt
Steps:
Wash your mint leaves and gently bruise them with your hands. Add them to your teapot or quart sized glass jar along with the black tea bags (or loose leaf equivalent). Bring 32oz of filtered water to just under boiling . Add to your mint and black tea and steep for 5min. Remove tea bags but leave mint leaves in to further infuse their flavor. Add organic cane sugar, lime juice, sea salt and splash of orange blossom water. Stir until the sugar and salt dissolve. Serve right way or chill in the fridge.
Notes: My husband picked the name for this tea after trying it for the first time. I made this for him on a hot day when he was mowing the lawn. Black tea is considered energetically neutral in Chinese Medicine (neither hot nor cold), so the mint leaves are added to give this tea a cooling nature. Lime and sea salt are natural sources of electrolytes. The orange blossom water adds a little hint of something special. I. like the Cortas brand which I purchased locally at the Asian market but it is also available on Amazon. You can use lemon instead of lime but lime is preferred in my house (for this recipe). You can substitute the organic cane sugar in this recipe but nothing tastes quite as right in this recipe as the sugar does. This tea is far more Mediterranean/Middle Eastern than it is TCM and it is very refreshing and uniquely flavored. I hope you give it a try and let me know if you like it.
